Personal Leadership Training Programme Launch (18/03/2025)
The MUBS Leadership Center launched a Personal Leadership Skills training program for students on 18th March 2025, aimed at developing essential leadership skills and promoting best practices through various activities. The program focuses on self-awareness, intentional decision-making, and addressing issues like peer pressure, with sessions held weekly every Wednesday at 5 PM, with a mix of online and physical meetings to enhance communication, time management, and interpersonal skills. The MUBS leadership emphasized the importance of personal development beyond academics, encouraging students to take advantage of this opportunity to become competitive and make a positive impact on society.
The program was opened with a prayer by Godfrey Ofwono followed by welcome remarks by the Dean of Students, Ms. Juliet Kateega, and the MUBS Guild President, Hon. Moses Amanya. Dr. Regis Namuddu, the Director of the Leadership Center, and Dr. Joseph Mugambwa, the Dean of Faculty Management, were also present. The Dean of Students emphasized the importance of personal leadership for success in life and encouraged students to take advantage of this opportunity.
The Principal MUBS, Prof. Moses Muhwezi stressed the value of these skills beyond academic knowledge and urged students to have personal goals and direction in life. The principal delivered a passionate speech to students about personal leadership and development. He emphasized the importance of being competitive, developing useful skills beyond academics, and making a positive impact on society. The principal encouraged students to take advantage of free online courses, develop personal branding, and be flexible in their thinking. He stressed the value of self-discipline, effective communication, and hard work, especially for disadvantaged students. The speech concluded with the official launch of a personal leadership skills training program and an invitation for a group photo.
